XS Nightclub’s Massive Renovation Could Change Wynn Nightlife Forever
One of the most iconic nightclubs in the world is about to undergo its biggest transformation in nearly two decades.
Wynn Nightlife has confirmed that XS Nightclub will close for an extensive renovation in August 2026, marking the first major reimagining of the legendary venue since it opened in 2008. While renovations are nothing new in Las Vegas, the scale of this project could reshape the entire Wynn nightlife experience for years to come.
A New Chapter for One of Las Vegas’ Most Famous Nightclubs
Since opening inside Encore Las Vegas, XS has become one of the most successful and recognizable nightclubs in the world.
The venue helped define modern Las Vegas nightlife and has hosted countless performances from artists including The Chainsmokers, Marshmello, Diplo, Kygo, Deadmau5, David Guetta, Skrillex, and many more. Over the years, XS has consistently ranked among the highest-grossing nightclubs in the United States and remains one of the flagship venues within Wynn Nightlife.
Now, after nearly two decades of operation, Wynn is preparing the venue for its next era.
The Main Room Is Closing First
The transformation is expected to happen in multiple phases.
The indoor main room is already entering renovation, while operations continue outside around the venue’s famous pool area. Wynn Nightlife has introduced what is being called “XS Main Stage,” an outdoor-focused experience that allows events to continue while construction takes place beginning May 29, 2026. The concept builds upon the success of previous outdoor XS events and Night Swim-style experiences that have become popular over the years.
For guests attending this summer, the biggest change will be the setting—not the talent.
The DJ Lineup Isn’t Going Anywhere
One of the biggest concerns among nightlife fans whenever a venue closes is what happens to the artist roster.
Fortunately for Wynn Nightlife guests, the answer appears to be simple: the DJs are staying.
Current Wynn Nightlife schedules continue to feature many of the same resident artists who have helped make XS one of the premier nightlife destinations in the world, including The Chainsmokers, Diplo, Kaskade, Gryffin, deadmau5, Loud Luxury, Mau P, Hugel, Dillon Francis, and others.
Rather than eliminating performances, Wynn is shifting where those performances take place.
Encore Beach Club At Night Will Become the Temporary Home
When XS enters its final renovation phase later this year, Wynn Nightlife plans to move events to Encore Beach Club At Night.
The move allows Wynn to continue operating a full nightlife schedule while construction progresses on XS. Encore Beach Club At Night has already established itself as one of the most successful nightlife venues on the Strip, hosting many of the same resident DJs that regularly perform at XS.
For many guests, the transition may feel relatively seamless since numerous artists already perform at both venues throughout the year. Check out all EBC At Night events.
Why This Renovation Matters
Las Vegas nightlife is more competitive than ever.
Newer venues such as LIV Las Vegas and Zouk Nightclub have invested heavily in production technology, immersive visuals, and upgraded guest experiences. Wynn’s decision to completely reimagine XS signals that the company intends to remain at the forefront of the industry rather than rely solely on the venue’s legendary reputation.
XS has undergone upgrades before, including a major multimillion-dollar production enhancement that added new LED technology, pyrotechnics, and visual effects. However, this renovation is expected to be significantly larger in scope.
What Could the New XS Look Like?
Wynn has not publicly revealed specific details regarding the redesign.
However, industry observers expect significant production enhancements, updated technology, new guest experiences, and a refreshed layout designed to compete with the newest generation of Las Vegas nightlife venues. Wynn has stated that the renovated venue will reopen with “significant enhancements” when construction is complete.
If Wynn’s previous nightclub projects are any indication, expectations will be extremely high.
What This Means for Guests This Summer
For visitors planning a trip to Las Vegas, the message is simple: XS is still open, but the experience is evolving.
The outdoor Main Stage concept will host many of the same world-class DJs fans have come to expect from Wynn Nightlife. Later in the year, performances will transition to Encore Beach Club At Night while renovation work continues.
The venue may look different, but the parties are not stopping.
Final Thoughts
Very few venues have had a larger impact on Las Vegas nightlife than XS Nightclub.
The upcoming renovation marks the beginning of a new chapter for a venue that has helped define the nightlife industry for nearly 20 years. While fans may be saying goodbye to the current version of XS, Wynn Nightlife is betting that what’s coming next will be even bigger.
For now, guests still have one final summer to experience XS Main Stage before the next evolution of one of Las Vegas’ most legendary nightclubs officially begins.
