American rapper Jeezy started off with Def Jam Recordings in 2004, shooting to #2 on the Billboard 200 with his debut release “Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101.” He is considered one of the forerunners of the trap music genre along with fellow rappers T.I. and Gucci Mane. His actual career took off in 2001 under the name Lil J, but since then graduated to the title Jeezy. He has put out 10 successful albums, and claims numerous hit singles like “Soul Survivor” and “I Luv It.” He has worked with everyone from Usher to Rhianna, continually producing crowd pleasing songs that appear on top 40 charts and Billboard rankings.
His fans love his music, and many of his albums premier at number 1 as soon as they are released. He even helped those who lost their homes during Hurricane Katrina, showing his altruistic side and garnering respect from those affected and even those who weren’t. Jeezy plays at Drai’s, adding to the already impressive artist lineup the club boasts.
