Zedd has been a familiar name on the music scene in Las Vegas for awhile, but the Russian born DJ has roots in death-core and other genres, too. He grew up in Germany, where he joined the band Dioramic, but he was eventually lured to the electronic side of music after hearing Justice, two french DJs known for their electronic beats. Zedd is well-known for taking popular songs and remixing them, at once creating something new and familiar. He finally put out his own “debut” album in 2012, and his song “Clarity” shot to the top of many charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 where it reigned at number 10.
He has since worked with everyone from Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez to Haley Williams and Lady Antebellum, stretching his range into a variety of genres. He has performed at Coachella, organized a benefit concert to raise money for the American Civil Liberties Union, and even got himself banned from performing live in China for liking a tweet connected to the show South Park. His EDC sets have become the stuff of legend, and he recently signed a residency at Resorts Worlds Ayu Dayclub and Zouk Nightclub to bring his music to the Vegas masses on a regular basis.
