If not originally from Las Vegas, where did you move here from?
I was born in LA, but I’ve been in Vegas for most of my life, so I claim that I’m from here.
How did you start working in the nightlife or hospitality industry? Give a brief work history / background.
I actually started as a promoter for Liquid at 18! I couldn’t get into the venue, & had no idea what it even looked like. I was a club/lounge promoter for about 5 years and decided to try cocktailing 2 years ago.
Now that you are working in the industry, what is different about your lifestyle?
Liquid was my first real job, so I’ve been in the industry since I started working. It hasn’t changed my lifestyle much, since it’s really all I know. However, as a cocktail waitress I’m much more in the mix within the industry community.
What does a typical day at work look like for you and what is your “normal” schedule?
My “normal” schedule is usually 1 weekday, 1 out reach, and then doubles on weekends.
How long does it take you to get ready for work?
About an hour
How many nights a week do you go out (to a club)?
1 night a week
Who is your favorite DJ/performer in the Las Vegas market right now?
N/A
What is your drink (alcoholic) of choice?
I actually don’t drink
What is your secret cure to a hangover?
Not drinking? Lol.
What was the longest timeframe you have stayed awake? When and why?
I don’t know..24 hours maybe? & probably for work. I really value my sleep so I don’t tend to stay awake for extended periods of time.
What do you enjoy most about working in the nightlife or hospitality industry in Las Vegas?
A lot of the time I forget it’s work because I enjoy it so much. That, and the community. Everyone is friends with everyone & you get taken care of.
What is your least favorite part about working in the nightlife or hospitality industry in Las Vegas?
The doubles. Haha. It’s a love/hate relationship. I know it’s what I signed up for, but sometimes the long hours really get to me.
If you were not working in nightlife or hospitality, what would you be doing?
Once upon a time I wanted to be a costume designer for movies. Although I can’t say that’s what I would actually be doing if I weren’t working in the industry.
Do you have a mentor in the industry? If so, who? If not, who would you like to be mentored by?
I don’t have a mentor, but the returners at Tao Beach have been more than helpful with steps of service and sharing sales techniques. They’re very hands on when needed for assistance & are always open to questions. I will say though, Larissa Galford is
