HELP WITH HOTELS AND NIGHTLIFE

Our forum member guv72 asked this question about Hotels and Nightlife

“I need some advice please, I am coming to a conference in las vegas for 4 days end of Sept, staying at the mandalay bay from mon -thurs, but I am arriving on the friday and have some time for myself till Sunday and then after the conference staying from thurs- sun for more time myself. I will probably be by myself during the free time, but I want to experience the vegas night life and pool parties. I am 43 years old, so i ain’t exactly young, and but I don’t look that old, so would like to experience places probably closer to age group if that is possible. I am looking at staying at 2 different hotels before and after the conference. The hotels I have in mind are:

Encore
cosmpolitan
venetian
belagio

Looking for hotels with great lounge bars and pool parties. I was looking at cosmpolitan but heard its more for younger crowd the marquee pool party and club, but the lounge bars are more for older crowd, and then looking at encore for the last 3 days. Also i was told voodoo lounge is really good for the older crowd.

Can anyone advise what hotels I should stay in before and after my conference, with the requirements I have. It would be a great help.”

Hi there! I’ve stayed at the Cosmo and the Bellagio, but not at the other properties you listed. I can tell you that the Bellagio is NOT a young & hip crowd. I would not recommend staying there if that’s what you’re after. Cosmo is great- and lots of folks in 30’s and 40’s stay there- so if you’re hip, you’ll love it and will fit right in.

A split between Cosmo and either Wynn or Encore is exactly what I’d recommend. They have different things to offer so trying each is absolutely the way to go. Cosmo has more social and busy bars and lounges, while Wynn/Encore has more elegant and refined ones. I highly recommend going to EBC at least one day and XS Nightswim on Sunday night is generally considered one of the more fun events of the week.
