A Candid Interview With DJ Vice

LA-born, Vegas-famed DJ Vice showcases his many talents and interests

Eric Aguirre graces the stages of Vegas and beyond as DJ Vice. Vice has cemented his spot as a respected leader of the nightlife scene by staying ahead of the game and showcasing his many years of experience at clubs like Marquee, where he currently spins under his Heart of Vice residency.

He tells us, “I got my first Vegas residency at Body English in 2002, which was a game-changer because it started exposing me to a much more international audience.” When asked about the craziest things he’s witnessed during his Vegas experience, he adds, “I saw someone so drunk they fell off the 2nd story balcony of Body English Nightclub…landed on a cocktail waitress and walked away still partying!”

Vice spins a variety of music on his big nights and says, “I like to think of myself as a genre-bender; never just dropping one genre of music the whole night.” Among personal details, his favorite drink is vodka water—“so LA of me”—and he’s a fan of pho after late-nights out. As for pre-game spots, he recommends TAO for dinner before sets.

He also seems to be a taco enthusiast, as he lists, “Catch up on new music and try to find the best taco spots on Yelp,” as activities he partakes in while he has free time. His Electric Taco series on YouTube follows his quest around the city of Los Angeles in search of the best tacos in town—and he always brings along special guests for the ride. Past episode guests include Eric D-Lux, A-Trak, Reggie Bush, and Wilmer Valderrama.

Vice’s interests vary further, as his successful venture, CRSVR at the Cosmopolitan, thrives just next door to his resident nightclub. The retail store is a boutique that sells in-demand Nike sneakers the moment they’re released. He started the shoe spot in Santa Barbara and opened the Cosmo location just three years after. He says is other passion lies with the sneaker game.

The multi-talented musician, entertainer, and businessman also produces his own tracks to play out in the clubs he frequents. He’s shared the studio with greats like Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, and Lady Gaga, just to name a few. As he continues to dominate the Strip scene, we can expect to hear more music and see more of his Electric Taco episodes in the forseeable future.
