Meet Local Musician and Entrepreneur: Stellar
Dave Garcia is known onstage as Stellar, the DJ to multiple venues on the Las Vegas Strip including Light and Daylight at Mandalay Bay, Hyde at Bellagio, and the SLS Hotel and Casino. Not only does he spin locally, but he’s also gone on over five international tours and played mega-events and venues Ultra Korea and Space Ibiza.
Stellar is a seasoned professional who has been involved in the Vegas nightlife industry for over ten years, from the days of Empire Ballroom and Utopia until now. After a snap decision to move from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, he began promoting parties and eventually segued into setting the soundtrack for them. He started playing the Strip in 2010 and moved up from the now-shuttered Rain nightclub at the Palms to some of the best venues Las Vegas Boulevard has to offer.
Not only does the S.K.A.M. signed Stellar play music to packed rooms of partying guests, but he also produces original tracks and runs his own record label, Calamity of Noise Records. To add to his professional repertoire, he’s also a partner in Lucky Foo’s restaurant in Henderson.
When getting to know the DJ outside of his occupation, it’s fun to know that his favorite drink is Jack Daniels, his choice tourist destination is Kiss Mini Golf on Paradise, and he enjoys ice hockey, snowboarding, and wakeboarding when he’s not working on music.
Looking forward to 2016, Stellar notes that he has a handful of original releases coming up. This is on the heels of his latest release, “Show Me Now,” which has garnered tremendous support since its reveal earlier in February of this year. He also plans to unveil new and exciting talent on his record label, as well as travel to destinations like Cabo, Atlantic City, Chicago and Miami on tour.
